The Porto Territorial Command, through the Penafiel Investigation and Support for Specific Victims Unit (NIAVE), seized 30 firearms and over 2,800 rounds of ammunition this Friday, June 12, while executing a search warrant in the municipality of Paredes. The seizures were carried out during a home search as part of a domestic violence investigation. Following the investigation, it was determined that the 35-year-old female victim had already left the residence with her two minor children, and that the 45-year-old suspect holds a valid firearms license. The GNR stated that the weapons were seized as a precautionary measure, are properly registered, and the case is being handled by the Paredes Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ) regarding the two minors. The facts have been reported to the Paredes Judicial Court.
