Cookie Policy

Last updated: 20 February 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Lisboeta (lisboeta.news) uses cookies and similar technologies. We believe in transparency — the short version is that we set no first-party tracking cookies.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site operators.

2. Cookies on This Site

Lisboeta does not set any first-party cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes. However, the following third-party cookies may be set:

Cloudflare Turnstile (Strictly Necessary)

When you interact with our newsletter signup form, Cloudflare Turnstile may set cookies to verify that you are a real person and protect the form from automated abuse. These cookies are classified as strictly necessary under the ePrivacy Directive because they are essential for the security of the service.

3. What We Don't Use

  • No advertising cookies — We do not serve ads or use ad-tracking cookies.
  • No analytics cookies — Our analytics provider (Vercel Analytics) is fully cookieless and does not track individual users.
  • No social media tracking cookies — We do not embed social media widgets that set cookies.

4. Why We Don't Show a Cookie Banner

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (as transposed into Portuguese law), consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the service. Since the only cookies on this site are Cloudflare's anti-abuse cookies (which are strictly necessary for security), we are not required to display a cookie consent banner.

5. Local Browser Storage

For transparency, we also disclose our use of browser localStorage (which is technically not a cookie):

This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually.
  • Block third-party cookies.
  • Block cookies from specific sites.
  • Block all cookies.
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the newsletter signup form.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.

8. Contact
