The Central Criminal Investigation Court (Tribunal Central de Instrução Criminal) has ordered 56 defendants to stand trial in the long-running Tutti Frutti corruption case. The suspects, who face charges including corruption and influence peddling, include former Social Democratic Party (Partido Social Democrata or PSD) lawmaker Sérgio Azevedo and former parish council (junta de freguesia) presidents Luís Newton and Vasco Morgado. Only three of the individuals indicted by public prosecutors had their charges dismissed.

The municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia rejected plans to build a high-speed train station in Santo Ovídio, demanding that authorities evaluate an alternative site in Mafamude and Vilar do Paraíso. Local officials warned that the current station project would cause prolonged disruption to the city. The municipality's formal objection comes days before the scheduled groundbreaking for the high-speed rail line.

The Judicial Police (Polícia Judiciária or PJ) detained 13 people, including business owners and senior executives, following an investigation into a corruption scheme at the municipal company Águas de Gaia. The suspects are scheduled to appear before the Porto Criminal Investigation Court (Tribunal de Instrução Criminal do Porto) for initial questioning.

FC Porto could secure their 31st national championship title this Saturday in their match against Alverca at the Estádio do Dragão. The team needs a victory to guarantee the trophy, though they could also be crowned champions if Benfica fails to win their earlier match against Famalicão.
