Tomato industry needs 400 seasonal workers
Clan is hiring over 400 people for Castanheira do Ribatejo and Marateca to meet the seasonal needs of the tomato processing industry. The recruitment firm is seeking production, warehouse, sorting, and quality control operators, as well as quality analysts and administrative assistants for Kagome Foods Portugal and FIT. Candidates of all ages are welcome, with availability required from late July to early October. Kagome provides free transport for continuous shift workers from various areas including Montijo, Águas de Moura, Setúbal, Carregado, and Alverca. Additionally, a separate report notes that a tax incentive for housing has benefited over 200 companies and 8,900 workers, though critics argue it fails to address structural housing issues.
