President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa argued in Alenquer that today's youth possess more knowledge and are more dynamic and outgoing than those from two or three decades ago. Speaking at a secondary school, he noted that current students are more active, better informed, and more engaged in social and civic activities. He also observed increased integration efforts in schools and highlighted the growing diversity and female participation he encounters during his nationwide school visits, while noting that social and economic inequalities become more pronounced as students grow older.
