Firefighters injured and vehicle destroyed in Vinhais blaze
A wildfire in the Montesinho Natural Park, located in the Bragança district, has resulted in five injuries among emergency personnel, including two in serious condition. A fire vehicle from the Vinhais fire department was completely destroyed while responding to the incident, which has also led to the precautionary evacuation of the village of Dine.
The Montesinho Natural Park (Parque Natural de Montesinho) is a protected area located in the Bragança district of northeastern Portugal. Established in 1979, it covers approximately 75,000 hectares and is known for its diverse wildlife, including the Iberian wolf, and traditional mountain villages.
