A truck lost control on Tuesday morning, October 13, causing one death and three injuries on the Itinerário Complementar 5 (IC5) near Vila Flor, leading to the closure of the road, according to civil protection sources. Civil Protection commander Noel Afonso stated that the heavy goods vehicle went out of control near the Lodões exit and tipped over onto two light vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, killing a man in his early twenties. The death was confirmed at the scene, and three others sustained minor injuries and were taken to Mirandela hospital. Traffic was diverted as 23 emergency personnel and six vehicles, along with an INEM helicopter, responded to the incident.
