The National Association of Parishes (Anafre) has issued a negative opinion on a legislative proposal that intends to allocate funds from the Parish Financing Fund to the municipality of Corvo, in the Azores, which performs parish-level duties in this Azorean territory.
The president of the National Association of Parishes highlighted that the municipality of Corvo, as it lacks parish bodies, does not have the set of expenses that would justify access to the fund.
In the Azores, the Corvo Volunteer Firefighters will provide training to 22 new members, aged between 17 and 42, which will begin on Monday and continue until July 31st.
The project was accepted by everyone, and in 2022, the global tender for the execution of the contract was launched, with a total value of 3.6 million euros.
The scholarships last for the duration of the academic year, in accordance with the respective school calendar, according to regulations published this Tuesday in the Diário da República.
The ship Thor has not docked at Corvo's commercial port since November, and the supply failures are worrying local residents and business owners.
The cooperation between local authorities and the Azores Government aims to “work for the people of Corvo and provide responses to their needs” and includes investments in health, accessibility, and housing.
