The Public Prosecutor's Office has charged 35 defendants, including a company from Vale de Cambra and its main administrators, in a tax fraud case that allegedly defrauded the State and the European Union of 1.6 million euros. The scheme involved the use of fake invoices to obtain financial incentives and VAT refunds, as well as the misuse of company funds for personal expenses, including luxury goods, travel, and private household staff.
Among the defendants is a company based in Vale de Cambra, in the Aveiro district, along with its main administrators and several partner companies.
The defendants must jointly pay a total compensation of nearly 50,000 euros to the victim and two companies.
The harsher sentence was given to the woman, who was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison.
