The PSP stated that it was necessary to use a firearm to stop the aggression, confirming that the individual was struck, disarmed, and immediately assisted by emergency services. He was subsequently transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital in Funchal, where he remains under medical observation. The PSP confirmed it is fully cooperating with the judicial authorities.
