A 61-year-old man sustained serious injuries this Saturday, November 5, and was airlifted to Lisbon following a motorcycle crash on the National Road 369 (EN369) in Fronteira, Portalegre district, according to Civil Protection. The alert for the accident, which occurred near the town of Cabeço de Vide in the municipality of Fronteira, was raised at 15:29, a source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection told the Lusa agency. The same source indicated that the man was airlifted to Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon. Twelve firefighters, GNR officers, and members of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) were mobilised to the scene, supported by four vehicles, including the Portalegre Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) and a helicopter.
