The Court of Auditors detected irregularities following an audit in the area of public procurement, according to a report released this Monday.

The audit covered 190 contracts between 2019 and 2023, totalling 12.6 million euros. The municipality has 180 days to respond to the recommended measures.

The audit followed a formal complaint from the president of the Marvão Municipal Assembly, who questioned the legality of a series of direct-award contracts made between July and September 2017.

EN246-1 is closed as a precaution in the Marvão area to avoid the risk of a tree falling.

The weather phenomenon delighted local residents.

The entire Portalegre district was under a yellow warning for snow. Marvão was the first locality in the Alentejo to see snowfall.
