This Friday was marked by a protest in Trancoso. There are no longer doctors in two parishes and the population is outraged.
The ICNF has requested that the Trancoso City Council, as the entity responsible for the construction work, “suspend the works during the species' nesting period.”
The intervention caused the “direct destruction of nests,” noted the ICNF, which also states that a permit should have been requested for the works, as the colony was already known.
Works are taking place during the species' breeding season, which several associations point out is prohibited by law.
The origins of the fire are yet to be determined.
