Meo's revenues rose 0.3% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 1.297 billion euros, the telecommunications group announced this Thursday. Between January and June, EBITDA fell 7.5% to 443 million euros, while investment reached 202 million euros, a 3.3% increase, as the company continues to modernise its infrastructure and transform its business. In the second quarter, Meo recorded revenues of 648 million euros, EBITDA of 222 million euros, and investment of 97 million euros. The company also concluded the sale of its 65% stake in Intelcia and its Covilhã Data Center as part of a strategy to optimise its asset portfolio and focus on core business areas. Revenue growth in the second quarter was driven by a 36% expansion in the energy business and 5% growth in the B2B segment, though this was offset by a decline in the consumer segment due to market competition and a reduction in MVNO-related revenues. The decline in EBITDA was attributed to competitive pressures and inflationary costs, such as infrastructure rental and energy, partially mitigated by operational efficiency initiatives.
The “increasingly demanding competitive environment” continued to pressure Meo's consumer business in the second quarter, leading to stagnant total revenues and a loss of operational profitability for the operator. For the first half of the year, Meo's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 7.5% year-on-year.
Digi's revenue in Portugal reached 37.2 million euros in the first half of the year, an increase of about 6% compared to 2025, the operator announced this Friday. In the second quarter alone, Digi totalled 18.9 million euros in revenue in Portugal, up from the 17.3 million euros reported in the same period last year, according to the company's report released today. By the end of the first half, Digi Portugal had 545,000 mobile lines and 186,000 internet customers, 147,000 of whom also subscribed to Digi TV. In a statement, the company also highlighted an 11% increase in the group's consolidated revenue, which reached 608 million euros in the second quarter. Romanian company Digi reported revenues of 515 million euros in Spain for the first half of the year, a 15.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to a statement sent this Thursday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). The rise was driven primarily by a net increase of 558,000 mobile customers. Despite the revenue growth, the group, which also operates in Portugal, recorded a loss of 14.5 million euros in the first half in the neighbouring country, compared to a negative result of one million in the same period of 2025. Operating profit stood at 6.3 million euros, nearly four times lower than in June 2025, affected mainly by greater impairment of non-current assets and rising operating expenses. All revenue categories grew: mobile services increased by 8.3% to 283.5 million euros; fixed broadband rose by 21.4% to 209.7 million; and fixed-line telephony and subscription television reached 8.03 million and 7.47 million, respectively. In the second quarter, revenues totalled 262.8 million, an annual growth of 15.1%, which the company attributes to the strengthening of mobile, internet, and fixed data services, as well as its commercial offers. Digi also gained market share in fixed broadband, moving from 11.7% in the first half of 2025 to 14.5% by the end of June 2026. In the first six months, the group continued the development of its own network and the expansion of mobile capacity to support telecommunications services (mobile, broadband, fixed, and TV). Regarding forecasts for 2026, the company maintains its expectations with revenues between 1.04 billion and 1.085 billion euros, with 515 million already achieved, 263 million of which in the second quarter. Digi intends to open up to 30% of its capital to investors to raise 300 million euros.

Digi, a telecommunications operator founded in Romania that expanded into Spain and later Portugal, is considering an IPO on the Spanish stock exchange to raise capital. According to Cinco Días, the company is looking to float 25% to 30% of Digi Spain as early as July, aiming to secure at least 300 million euros for reinvestment and operational scaling. Meo announced this Thursday, the 21st, that its first-quarter 2026 revenues totalled 703 million euros, a 0.9% increase compared to the first three months of 2025. The group, led by Ana Figueiredo, also reported that investment rose by 5.5% to 106 million euros, while EBITDA stood at 226 million euros. According to the statement, revenue growth was supported by a 1.7% increase in the Consumer segment—driven by the Energy business, which helped mitigate pressure on Telco ARPU in a competitive market—and a 3.4% increase in Business Services revenues. EBITDA recorded a year-on-year decline of 7.3%. Excluding Altice Labs results and the progressive loss of the MVNO, the EBITDA decline would have been 4.3%, affected by the decrease in Telco ARPU and rising costs, particularly due to inflation in third-party services. Regarding the increase in investment to 106 million euros, Meo highlighted that this reflects its commitment to the expansion and modernisation of networks and infrastructure, aiming to maintain excellence and security in services provided to residential and business customers. Meo also noted that it maintained resilient operational performance despite the impact of storm Kristin, having activated its emergency plan and mobilised technicians to restore infrastructure and support affected customers. By the end of March, the company reported fibre optic coverage in 6.7 million homes and mobile population coverage of 99.98% in 4G and 97.38% in 5G. The total RGU base (fixed and mobile) remained at 13.3 million.
