The number of requests for exam grade reviews has more than doubled compared to 2025, while some students are still awaiting their first-phase results and higher education applications remain low. Minister of Education Fernando Alexandre stated that 170 students are still waiting for their grades, but noted this is a small fraction of the 290,000 exams taken. He attributed the surge in review requests to a new, more objective grading system that resulted in many grades falling just one-tenth of a point below a higher threshold.
