Caixa receives a further €250 million in public guarantee to help young people buy homes
Banco CTT has also requested extra support and will receive an additional €25.8 million in guarantees. Under the measure, the State acts as guarantor for between 10% and 15% of loans requested by young people up to 35 years old.
Government strengthens public guarantee for young people at CGD and Banco CTT
In September last year the government had already approved a strengthening of the State's personal guarantee.
Young people's home purchases backed by the State declined in November
The State guarantee allowing young people aged 18 to 35 to buy a home without having to provide a deposit peaked in October 2025. In November, 52.8% of the total amount allocated by the State for this support scheme had been used.

October was, therefore, the month with the highest absolute and relative values since the implementation of this programme, with significant data since the beginning of this year.
