EDP Renováveis (EDPR) reported profits of 184 million euros in the first half of the year, a 96% increase compared to the same period in 2025, the company announced today. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) grew 11% to 1.057 billion euros by June. According to the statement sent this Wednesday to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), EDP Renováveis' recurring results—on a comparable basis, excluding extraordinary impacts—grew 33% in the first half to 183 million euros. Recurring EBITDA increased 8% in the first half compared to the first half of 2026, reaching 1.033 billion euros. The energy company of the EDP Group (Energias de Portugal) attributes the first-half profits to “solid operational performance and higher transaction gains” from asset sales, although these were “mitigated by increased amortisation, non-controlling interests, and the negative impact of exchange rate differences.” EDP Renováveis' revenue exceeds 2 billion, but profit falls 49% through September.

The Spanish Masaveu family has once again strengthened its position in EDP by acquiring 1,043,305 shares for 4.4 million euros, according to a statement released on the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) website. The chief executive of the Spanish energy company Endesa, José Bogas, will step down on April 28, the company announced to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). José Bogas, who has been CEO of Endesa for 12 years, will leave the position after the shareholders' meeting scheduled for April 28, but will remain connected to the company as an external advisor, according to the energy firm.
