EDP has entered into a long-term strategic partnership in Singapore with technology firm Akamai to provide green electricity through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The contract covers energy generated by 27 solar photovoltaic plants, with an annual production capacity of approximately 17,000 megawatt-hours (MWh). The deal occurs amidst the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence, which has driven energy demand for data centres and digital infrastructure. The rooftop solar units are already operational, with an installed capacity of 13 megawatts-peak (MWp). Both companies highlight that the initiative will prevent approximately 5,850 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. This marks Akamai's first green electricity purchase in the Asia-Pacific region. The project aligns with the company's goal of achieving carbon neutrality and sourcing 100% renewable energy by 2030, while also supporting Singapore's Green Plan 2030, which promotes urban rooftop solar installations to overcome land scarcity.

EDP Renováveis (EDPR) reported profits of 184 million euros in the first half of the year, a 96% increase compared to the same period in 2025, the company announced today. According to the statement sent this Wednesday to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), EDP Renováveis' recurring results—on a comparable basis, excluding extraordinary impacts—grew 33% in the first half to 183 million euros. Recurring EBITDA increased 8% in the first half compared to the first half of 2026, reaching 1.033 billion euros.
