Taxis departing from the arrivals terminal at Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport (Aeroporto Humberto Delgado) must now apply fixed fares ranging between €16 and €19 depending on the destination zone. The measure, agreed between the Lisbon City Council (Câmara Municipal de Lisboa) and national taxi associations, aims to curb overcharging and improper ride refusals. Full implementation of the airport system, including mandatory card payment terminals and vehicle accreditation, is scheduled for early November.

The Câmara de Lisboa (Lisbon City Council) is Lisbon's municipal executive body responsible for city services, local regulations and enforcing municipal bylaws. It approves measures like the alcohol sales ban that started on February 14, so residents and business owners should consult the Câmara or its website for permits, enforcement rules and appeals.

Starting October 15, taxi fares from Lisbon airport will be fixed based on the destination, replacing the use of taximeters for trips originating there. The Humberto Delgado airport arrivals area will be restricted to authorized taxis adhering to these new rules. Lisbon is divided into two fare zones, with prices varying by time of day, weekends, and holidays, while trips outside the city will also have set prices. This agreement, signed by the Lisbon City Council and various transport and tourism associations, aims to curb insecurity and scams. Mayor Carlos Moedas stated the goal is to improve service quality, with all participating taxis now required to accept electronic payments and drivers held to new professional and vehicle cleanliness standards.
