Portugal Announces Trade Support and Direct Ties in Venezuela

Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion Manuel Castro Almeida announced a new financial and institutional support framework in Caracas to assist Portuguese businesses operating in Venezuela. The plan expands financing through the Portuguese Development Bank (Banco Português de Fomento) and reopens the Caracas office of export agency AICEP (Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal). Following talks with Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodríguez, both governments also expressed interest in expanding direct commercial flights and tourism connections.
