For years, populations near the Lima River in Galicia have suffered from fecal pollution caused by intensive poultry and pig farming. The problem is now reaching Portugal.

Two architects from Ponte da Barca want to help preserve the sonic roots of the Minho region. Since February, they have been teaching how to make musical instruments from natural materials on social media, in schools, and in nursing homes.

The intervention provides for the full rehabilitation of the building, a former school. This includes improvements to the roof, total renovation of the interior spaces, and enhancement of the exterior landscaping.
