The Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection reported that the accident, alerted at 12:13, occurred at kilometer 676.200 of the IC1. Ourique Fire Chief Mário Batista confirmed the vehicle fell down a 15-meter ravine. The victims were the only occupants of the car, and their deaths were declared at the scene by a medical team from Albufeira. Emergency operations involved 21 personnel and nine vehicles, including the INEM helicopter from Évora, which was later stood down.
