Patrícia Almeida, leader of the Chega party's Lisbon district branch, has reportedly filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office against Bruno Mascarenhas, alleging irregularities in the collection of signatures for a list of candidates for delegates to the party's National Convention. The list, headed by the Lisbon city councillor, was rejected by district authorities. According to reports, the complaint submitted by Almeida, who is also a Member of Parliament and leads the rival list, cites alleged coercion of members, unauthorised contact with individuals not in the database, and forged signatures. Mascarenhas has dismissed the accusations, claiming the move reflects fear of competition, and maintains that the signatures were collected legitimately. Lisbon residents ask Moedas to pressure presidential candidates to remove posters

The Vizinhos de Lisboa association has asked the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, to notify the presidential campaigns of António José Seguro, Marques Mendes, and André Ventura, demanding the removal of election posters still on public roads. As reported by DN, this is due to campaign budget savings, as they are waiting for the propaganda to be replaced by materials from the parties that supported them. In the letter sent to Carlos Moedas, the association highlights that weeks after the election, the posters remain visible, contributing to the degradation of the city's urban image and visual pollution. The association requests that the municipality notify the campaign structures to remove the materials promptly, or face forced removal at the candidates' expense if they fail to comply within a reasonable timeframe.

Presidential campaign posters remain months after the election

Months after the presidential election, campaign posters for candidates like Marques Mendes, António José Seguro, and João Cotrim de Figueiredo are still visible across Portugal. The delay in removal is largely due to financial constraints and the practice of waiting for parties to produce new promotional materials to replace the old ones. While some candidates, such as André Ventura and Henrique Gouveia e Melo, acted quickly to clear their visual footprint, others are leaving their posters up to save on removal costs, despite the political and aesthetic implications of keeping outdated campaign imagery in public spaces.
