The Torres Vedras club, third in the II Liga, will play in the final of the premier cup competition for the second time against holders Sporting on May 24 at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, making the originally scheduled Saturday date impossible. In a statement, the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) announced the matches will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at Torreense's home ground at 18:00, and nearly a week later on Thursday, May 28, in Rio Maior, Casa Pia's home ground, at 20:00. Casa Pia finished the 2025/26 I Liga season in 16th place with 30 points, while Torreense finished third in the II Liga with 59. Since 2021, only AVS has managed to avoid relegation to the II Liga via the play-off, having defeated Vizela last season.
The coach guaranteed that the team will “fight for the three points” in the final round of the I Liga, but acknowledged that the responsibility lies with Sporting, who need to win to secure second place.

In a year where the collective was always above the individual, Bednarek once again stood out as the individual and scored the winning goal for FC Porto against Alverca, which confirmed the Championship (1-0).

It is the 31st time the club has won the title.
