Starting October 15, taxi trips from Lisbon Airport will transition to a fixed-fare system to improve price transparency. Depending on the destination zone, passengers will pay either 16 or 19 euros, following an agreement between taxi associations and the Lisbon City Council.
Update: DECO challenges legality of new airport taxi fares
The Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor or DECO) has questioned the legality of the new fixed-fare protocol. The organization argues that the measure may limit consumer choice and potentially penalize passengers who would otherwise benefit from metered rates.
