President of the Republic António José Seguro has further consolidated his team in Belém with 16 new appointments, including the Head of the Military Household and the Head of the Communications Centre. Meanwhile, his predecessor, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, has appointed two staff members to his office for former Presidents, which provides institutional support after a term ends. Key appointments include Lieutenant-General Paulo Maia Pereira as Head of the Military Household, alongside various military advisors, aides-de-camp, and administrative staff. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has retained former journalist Maria João Ruela as an advisor and Helena Maurício Rebelo as secretary for his own office.
