The PSD National Council approved this Wednesday (8) the schedule for the party's leadership elections. Direct elections will take place on May 30, with the Congress following on June 20 and 21 at the Sangalhos Velodrome in Anadia. Candidates must submit their bids by May 18, supported by at least 1,500 active members. The regulations also allow for a pre-congress convention on May 23 if multiple candidates run. Party leader Luís Montenegro aims to align the election cycle with his initial 2022 victory, while former Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho has reiterated he is not a candidate.
