Covilhã offers IMI tax exemption for young homebuyers
The Municipality of Covilhã has announced a five-year exemption from the Municipal Property Tax (Imposto Municipal sobre Imóveis or IMI) for residents under 35 years old. The measure applies to those purchasing their first permanent home within the municipality. Mayor Hélio Fazendeiro stated the initiative aims to attract and retain young talent in the region.
