On Wednesday afternoon, the Sado River overflowed its banks and began to flood the town centre of Alcácer do Sal, particularly Avenida dos Aviadores.
National Road 338 between Piornos, Torre and Lagoa Comprida reopened to traffic at 15:00. It had been closed on 21 January due to heavy snowfall.
