Infraestruturas de Portugal has opened a public tender for the operation and maintenance of the A4, A24, and A35 motorways. Proposals are due by 27 April; the contract lasts for five years.
The activities to be carried out include the inspection and monitoring of the roads, as well as the execution of maintenance and repair work on all components of the road infrastructure.
The complaint comes from the Socialist Party (PS), which mocked the condition of the roads in the city of Braga, where it has observed 'holes and craters'.
CNN Portugal went to Serra da Estrela, where the amount of snow falling forces the snowploughs to traverse the road up and down 'almost every 15 minutes'.
