Germano de Sousa: "I always said it would be big — and I succeeded"
He was born in the Azores in August 1943 and studied Medicine at Coimbra during a time of political ferment. Founder of one of Portugal's largest clinical analysis laboratories, the former head of the Portuguese Medical Association is preparing his memoirs. Looking back, he acknowledges he was a pioneer and says: “Ana Paula Martins was singled out as the scapegoat for all the mistakes that Health has long accumulated. She is more a victim than a culprit — and of the Government itself.”
