"Maravilhário". Three centuries of donations on display at the University of Porto
The University of Porto opens the exhibition “Maravilhário – Donations to the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto” this Wednesday, June 17, celebrating approximately 200,000 donations received by the institution over three centuries. Running until September 20 at the museum's Central Pole in the Rectory building, the exhibition highlights the vital role of donations in preserving the university's scientific, cultural, and natural heritage. The collection includes over 200,000 items, ranging from insects and molluscs to fossils, archaeological artefacts, and a juvenile blue whale skeleton that washed ashore in Matosinhos in 1937.
