“They act as a social sieve, only those with contacts or money get through”: psychologists criticise mandatory internships
Junior psychologists report spending months or years looking for internships and denounce poorly paid or unpaid positions. The union states that the current model has become a “barrier to practising the profession”. The Order of Psychologists acknowledges that finding a vacancy can be “more challenging” in some contexts, but guarantees that the “majority” of graduates succeed.
