The Entity Managing Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Entidade Gestora de Resíduos de Equipamentos Elétricos e Eletrónicos) organises the collection, transport and recycling of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) in Portugal, operating under producer-funded waste rules. After storm damage it runs special collection campaigns so households can safely dispose of broken appliances and electronics.
