Civil Protection Special Force begins five-day national strike

Operational staff from the Special Civil Protection Force (Força Especial de Proteção Civil or FEPC) are beginning a five-day national strike this Monday to protest persistent delays in overtime payments. The Independent Union of Forestry, Environment and Civil Protection Workers (Sindicato Independente dos Trabalhadores da Floresta, Ambiente e Proteção Civil or SinFAP) stated that the protest covers unpaid hours related to the 2025 Special Rural Firefighting Device (Dispositivo Especial de Combate a Incêndios Rurais or DECIR) and recent emergency responses. The union has guaranteed that minimum service requirements will be maintained during the action.
