Operations at Madeira Airport are disrupted this Thursday, April 9, due to strong winds, with no aircraft having landed this morning, according to ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal. Information on the ANA website indicates that two planes arrived overnight, but no aircraft have landed at Madeira International Airport – Cristiano Ronaldo between early morning and 10:45. Two flights were diverted and 20 arrivals have been cancelled. Conversely, three planes departed early in the morning, while 20 departures were cancelled. ANA warns that weather forecasts indicate adverse conditions that may affect operations in the coming days, advising travellers to contact their airlines before heading to the airport. The Funchal Captaincy has issued warnings for rough seas and strong winds for the archipelago until 06:00 on Friday, and the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued yellow and orange weather warnings.
