With new regulations for tuk-tuk circulation and parking in effect, Lisbon issued an average of 88 fines per day between April and December 2025, primarily for parking violations, lack of seatbelts, and missing documentation. According to figures provided to Lusa by the Lisbon City Council (CML), approximately 24,200 fines were issued during those nine months. Since the implementation of restrictions on 337 streets and the creation of 250 designated parking spaces on April 1, 2025, the most frequent infractions involve illegal parking, seatbelt non-compliance, and lack of documents. The CML stated that these measures, enforced by the Municipal Police and EMEL, have had a positive impact on traffic flow, despite some remaining constraints and approximately 150 complaints from residents regarding access to historic neighborhoods.
