Lisbon Hospital Unit Adds 137 Nurses to Emergency Teams

The São José Local Health Unit (Unidade Local de Saúde de São José) in Lisbon hired 137 nurses between July and early October to reinforce hospital frontline care. The newly recruited nursing staff were deployed to high-pressure departments, including intensive care units, surgical operating rooms, and emergency services. Hospital officials said the additions help address critical staffing needs across the public medical facility.
