Wildfire forces evacuation of housing estate in Santo Tirso

A wildfire burning in the municipality of Santo Tirso led to the evacuation of the Vale do Pisão housing estate and the closure of National Road 105 on Tuesday. Over 150 personnel, supported by dozens of vehicles and aerial assets, are working to contain the blaze, which has been burning on two active fronts. Meanwhile, emergency services are also responding to a separate fire in the municipality of Gondomar.
