The fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, in Terras de Bouro, Braga district, has been brought under control, a source from the Cávado Sub-Regional Command told Lusa. According to the source, the fire was declared resolved around 12:00, but crews remain on the ground for mop-up operations. Several local fire departments, personnel from the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), the GNR, and an aerial asset, which is expected to demobilize shortly, are involved in the firefighting efforts. The fire started at 13:45 on Saturday in the parish of Vilar da Veiga, Terras de Bouro municipality, Braga district. As of 12:23, 80 personnel were on-site, supported by 21 vehicles and one aerial asset, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority website.
