April is a month that focuses particularly on workplace risks, with World Day for Safety and Health at Work celebrated on 28 April. This year, the International Labour Organization highlights the importance of healthy work environments and psychosocial well-being. This is an invitation to examine how work is designed and managed, focusing on organisational practices that impact employee health beyond just physical accidents. Factors such as work pace, emotional demands, autonomy, leadership support, and social community are crucial for team performance. Since psychosocial risks are often invisible, it is essential to use validated assessment tools—recommended by entities like the ACT, DGS, or the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP)—to take a 'snapshot' of the organisation. Assessing these risks is not just a legal obligation but a strategic tool for management to make informed decisions, as healthy teams drive better organisational results and create a positive, sustainable cycle of well-being.
