The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced a contribution of over one billion euros to the PTRR (Portugal Transformation, Recovery and Resilience plan), aimed at supporting families and businesses affected by the severe weather and the Kristin low-pressure system in early 2026. EIB President Nadia Calviño confirmed that the funding will include 300 million euros for infrastructure reconstruction and 750 million euros in credit lines for small and medium-sized enterprises. This initiative is part of a broader effort to assist Portugal's recovery, particularly in the central region, following significant damage caused by recent climate disasters.
