PSD/Madeira leader Miguel Albuquerque stated that he did not invite the national leadership to the regional party congress this weekend, citing a 'specific disagreement' following controversial remarks by parliamentary leader Hugo Soares regarding social mobility subsidies for island residents. Albuquerque noted that while communication with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro continues, pending issues must be resolved before reconciliation can occur.
