The updated figure, which rose from an initial estimate of 118 million euros, covers municipal infrastructure, public buildings, and damages reported by local social and religious institutions, though it excludes losses in the private business sector. Mayor Paulo Vicente described the destruction as one of the worst in the municipality's recent history and emphasized the urgent need for coordinated support to facilitate reconstruction.
