The Minister of National Defence, Nuno Melo, announced that the government is making significant progress in establishing a factory for the Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer in Beja to produce Super Tucano military aircraft. The project, which aims to manufacture the planes from start to finish, is expected to create highly qualified jobs and strengthen the aerospace cluster in Portugal. The minister noted that the project is expected to be finalised by the end of the year, with production facilities likely located within the perimeter of the Beja Air Base.
