A 78-year-old man drove his car along the metro line between Senhora da Hora station in Matosinhos and Ramalde station in Porto this Monday, March 30, where he was intercepted by security guards, a Metro source revealed to Lusa. According to the source, the car travelled about two kilometres on the tracks, passing through the Sete Bicas and Viso stations. The alert was raised at 13:50, and once the car was immobilised, it was noted that the driver appeared disoriented. He was assisted by an INEM medical team and subsequently taken to hospital. The incident caused a 15-minute delay to services, and the car was moved to the Ramalde station platform, where it will remain until 01:00 on Tuesday to be removed by a tow truck when trains are no longer running. Services have since been restored.

The line was interrupted early this Thursday morning.

The Lisbon Metro Blue Line is suspended between Laranjeiras and Parque stations. According to the company, the service interruption is due to an 'external cause'. Service is halted at Jardim Zoológico, Praça de Espanha, São Sebastião, and Parque stations. The disruption began at 13:20 and there is no estimated time for normal service to resume. The company stated on X that the duration of the interruption is currently unpredictable and may be prolonged. DN has learned on-site that there are no further details regarding the nature of the 'external cause'.

The red line of the Lisbon Metro is currently out of service as of 4 PM.

All lines are suspended except the Yellow line.
