Bar Association Targets Unauthorized Practice of Law

The Portuguese Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados) launched an awareness campaign on Monday to combat the illegal practice of law (procuradoria ilícita). Professional bodies report hundreds of ongoing judicial cases targeting unqualified individuals and unauthorized agencies that charge fees for legal services reserved for certified lawyers and solicitors. The campaign warns residents and consumers against using unregulated representatives for administrative and legal processes.
