Nationwide School Strike May Close Classrooms on Monday

Public schools and preschools across Portugal may close on Monday due to a 24-hour strike by non-teaching staff. The walkout, called by the National Union of Education Professionals (Sindicato Nacional dos Profissionais de Educação or SINAPE), includes administrative assistants and operational staff. Several schools have already warned parents to anticipate closures or service disruptions.
