Government proposes income tax cuts for most earners

The Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to reduce personal income tax (Imposto sobre o Rendimento das Pessoas Singulares or IRS), which now moves to Parliament for debate. Simulations from consultancies indicate that while all income levels will see some reduction, the impact is most significant for intermediate tax brackets. The government aims to return approximately 400 million euros to taxpayers through these changes.
