Europe records over 30,000 heat-related excess deaths

Provisional data from the platform EuroMomo indicates that over 30,000 excess deaths occurred across Europe between mid-June and mid-August, a period marked by exceptional heatwaves. In Portugal specifically, authorities recorded more than 600 excess deaths during the same timeframe.
