Association reports frequent denial of care to pregnant women

The Portuguese Association for Women's Rights in Pregnancy and Childbirth (Associação Portuguesa pelos Direitos da Mulher na Gravidez e Parto or APDMGP) reports that hospitals frequently refuse care to pregnant women who have not first contacted the SNS24 health line. The association states it has received dozens of reports of such refusals, characterizing the practice as a violation of basic access to healthcare.
